LPN/RN

We are seeking to fill the following shifts:

Part Time or Full Time Opening:

  • 3rd Shift (10:00pm – 6:00am)

PRN Status Openings:

To maintain PRN/On-Call status, an employee must work at least three (3) shifts per month, including one (1) Saturday/Sunday shift per month and two (2) major holidays per year.

  • 1st Shift (6:00am – 2:00pm)
  • 2nd Shift (2:00pm – 10:00pm)
  • 3rd Shift (10:00pm – 6:00am)

The Licensed Practical Nurse/Registered Nurse work in accordance with established policies and procedures under the direction of the Director of Nursing. This person is responsible for monitoring direct resident cares in the nursing facility, monitoring performance of the Certified Nursing Assistants and Oral Medication Technicians providing those cares, assisting in direct resident cares as able around nurse required tasks. Administering medications and treatments according to the resident’s plan of care, maintaining appropriate medical record documentation, communication with residents and families, and assisting in response to medical emergencies in the areas of Cottage Grove Place outside of the nursing facility.

Responsibilities
  • Receive, document and implement physician orders.

  • Contributes to a positive, healthy and safe work environment.

  • Monitor, teach, redirect and discipline Certified Nursing Assistants/Oral Medication Technicians in the performance of their resident cares.

  • Admit, transfer and discharge residents in coordination with other disciplines.

  • Demonstrate working knowledge of universal precautions and other infection control procedures.

  • Required to fulfill mandate schedule and overtime hours as requested.

  • Attend monthly in-service training and education sessions, as assigned to maintain continued employment.

  • Perform medication administrations per physician order with zero medication errors.

Details

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from accredited Nursing program.
  • Currently licensed LPN or RN with the Iowa Board of Nursing.
  • Currently CPR certified.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background screen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in long term care.
  • Currently IV Therapy Certified.
