The Community

Cottage Grove Place lifecare retirement community opened in 1996 and is located in a residential neighborhood at the corner of First Avenue SE and Cottage Grove Avenue in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The community is minutes from restaurants, shopping, hospitals, cultural activities, places of worship and professional services.

The community consists of three distinct neighborhoods: independent living, assisted living and nursing care. The Commons contains 135 one and two bedroom independent living apartments with a number of rooms for entertainment and activities. The Commons connects via an underground concourse to Commons East, which contains 31 independent living apartments. The Oaks (connected to Commons East) features 19 certified assisted living apartments, a 40-bed skilled nursing center and a 12-bed memory care residence.

The People

Cottage Grove Place, Cedar Rapids is a not-for-profit corporation overseen be a local, independent Board of Trustees. It is operated entirely as a not-for-profit lifecare retirement community with the best interests of the residents at the forefront. Over 150 motivated and dedicated employees provide professional services in a friendly and personalized manner. These employees, along with our enthusiastic residents, have been instrumental in making Cottage Grove Place the highly regarded community it is today.
